Media Arts Movie Evalutation

Criteria: Group Movie Project

Describe your role in the production of the class movie. How did your contribution make things more efficient? How did you help make the movie better? What specific contributions did you make? Did you go above and beyond, or simply show up? Be honest.
I was just an anonymous weirdo who had no particular action in the film. I also directed for a day and i edited the last scene. I think i made things more efficient by the editing because i made it easier for the film to be put together as a whole. The movie was made better by making it more flowing and less awkwardly filmed. I specifically edited the last scene. When i edit i like doing things on my own because i see it in my own head. I dont think i went above and beyond, but i did try, and i hope to try harder next time.

Describe one or more things you learned about the writing process that you did not know before working on this project.

I didnt know that it took so much revision! It takes alot of work keeping in mind what is possible and what would work as a film.

Describe one or more things you learned about the production (filming) process that you did not know before working on this project.
I didnt know that it took such specific directions and actions. Its also easy to get inspired, i thought it would be word for word, but when you get inspired while filming anything works. Its very broad.

Describe one or more things you learned about the post-production (editing, sound, etc.) process that you did not know before working on this project.

I didnt know that so many people had work to do for one film! Everyone is a part of the masterpiece, it isnt just the director.

Are you satisfied with the final product? Why or why not? Be honest.

Im a fan of comedies and such, but i wish there was more depth to the story. Its understandable that we couldnt put much in, but i think we could have been just a bit more creative or artistic. Personally i like to direct and create on my own, and use my own ideas because i see things differently in my mind.

Suggest one improvement for next year’s class. What could I do to make it easier/better/more informative/more fun?

I think what you have going is great! Its fun, i just think to get people pumped for filmmaking and such, you should show some of your work, or just inspire us more so we feel more passionate about this class.

  1. What is Creativity?
Everyone has their own creativity. It is what makes up the imagination. I think creativity comes from within the deep imagination where no one else could access. It's a priviledge to have. I love how i can think of things no one else can, and maybe they have, but i know that even if someone else had that same idea, it still came from my own mind. That's what i think is rare for people. To think of original ideas because alot of the time the ideas we have run off of others ideas, it's natural. Being creative to me is thinking for myself and seeing things in different perspectives that no one else can. Its very liberating to see and feel things that no one else can see but you. And when you apply those original ideas to your life and to your artwork, you have true creativity.
I love applying creativity to my artwork. Ive always said things and done things that people always thought were strange, but whenever i apply it to my artwork, people seem to like it. Weird right? That creativity can come in different varieties? When most people hear the word creativity, they thing art, but i think its more than that. Its living and being something that no one else can be. You "create" something new and unique. You try to see things differently, and you take on things unfamiliar to you. Creativity to me, is not just artwork, but the way you live your life And i try to remind myself that when i feel different or weird or like an outcast, i know that is when im being fully creative. Its a sacrifice you have to make to not conform to others' ideas.
Conforming is one of my biggest fears. I never want to become someone's idea of acceptable. And that is huge in creativity. Many people have such great potential to be imaginitive, original, CREATIVE people, but many dont see that in themselves, or dont want to. And if everyone just looked in their heads without thinking, im sure they'd see some pretty weird, original, CREATIVE things. I strive to be that person. To be original is what makes creativity at its best.
